Photo purchasing options from photographers at Visualizer Image Group (VIG)

Some photo blog owners may have their photos for sale. Ways in which a photo may be for sale include:

Copyright
Ownership of the original photo or the photo exhibited on my photo blog/purchase of copyright for media, publication, web broadcasting, advertising, etc – If a photo is sold in this fashion, the purchaser owns the copyright and the photographer no longer has any rights to the photo.

License
License for use of the photo for media, publication, web broadcasting, advertising, etc – This is essentially paying for the specific use of a photo by the terms agreed upon by the owner/photographer and the purchaser. The agreement could be for a limited period of time or for a specific use. The terms of the agreement are between the owner/photographer and the purchaser of the license. If the photo is sold in this fashion, the owner/photographer retains ownership of the photo and the purchaser is buying only the rights to use that photo for the purposes and length of time agreed upon between the owner/photographer and the purchaser.

Unlimited usage without copyright
This is a purchase where the buyer can use the photo freely for an unlimited period of time, but the owner/photographer retains not only the rights to the photo, but the freedom to sell it to others as well.

Printed products
The photo may be available as a poster, card/postcard, coffee mug, t-shirt, etc. When you purchase a photo in this way, you are buying the product as printed, and not the photo. To find out how a photo might be available in printed format, visit the photographer's personal website (if available) or e-mail them enquiring about specific product availability.

Hire a photographer
You may also contact a photographer if you wish to hire them for a specific project.

Methods of ordering
When contacting an owner/photographer about purchasing their photos via e-mail, please be as specific as possible about how you wish to purchase the photo and what its usage would be or if enquiring about printed products, any information that might be needed (such as requested poster size or personalized greeting for a card).
