These creatures originate from Chile and is from the Guinea pig family, its monogomos and is part of very tight run groups.

The first time I saw one of these was at a zoo in Portland. I was intrigued by them then and continue to be now. They are amusing to watch, but very protective of their young it seems from what I observed. You have captured this mother Mara's attentiveness to safety extremely well.
They are so large, I wonder what their natural predators may be.
