What do you think, lightning strike or wind-related? I suppose it could have been from heavy snow-load. When I see these I tend to become intrigued with HOW it happened.

Judging from the looks of the tree, my guess would be a wind-related incident. There seems to be no singed areas, as there normally would be after a lightning-strike.

Nice, sharp photo with lots of detail, I personally would have cropped it tighter on the right side bringing the tree-trunk right to the edge of the photo.
But still a nice shot. Smile
