Sky of gold
As we all know fishermen are always the first people up in the morning, this picture was taken at around 5 in the morning, and these guys were way out at sea already

Very nice, beautiful sky and an appropriate title. I found it hard to understand you discription, at first, until I saw the picture in full size, and scrutinized the shadows, it was difficult to find the fishermen. I would have masked the shadows, and then lightened slightly them in Photoshop, to bring out bit more detail. Another way to get around this "problem" would be to expose for the fishermen, recomposing and using exposure-compensation, to achieve and get the correct exposure for the sky, and at the same time bring more detail to the shadows. Smile I would possibly also have cropped out the dark cloud at the top. But nonetheless a great shot. Very happy
