VIG ad campaign
Visualizer Image Group will soon be beginning a new ad campaign, which main strategy is to bring more attention to what we are really good at, such as our community services and our easy-to-use software. We cover a lot of things at VIG, and now it is time for us to cover a little more land. This is a new design and a new campaign, and your slogans and ideas are certainly appreciated. A very strong image to get the message across. I have to say that I am bemused as to why this forum isn't 100 times bussier than it is. I know from other forums that you will always have the watchers and the contributers, that is human nature. I also know that sometimes we have other things to do which keeps us away from the community. I certainly know this from my own experiance.
However, most forums out there give so much to it's members but when you really study it, it is the members giving to each other. I know of no other, forum/community call it what you like, that offers as much as VIG from the people that run it. No other that I know of develops and provides software. OK, VIG is a comercial enterprise but so what? There is free software as well that is of a very high standard and usibility. Again, I realise this even more now I am unable to use it.
So why is it that VIG isn't the most active and populated group on the planet? I wish I knew. Part of me likes it as it is, small friendly and even intimate, but that is not enough. As experienced, commercial, advanced or beginner level photographers, we all need contact with like minded people. In my case, the forums are the only contact I have with other photographers. I do not get the opportunity to share my hobby with anyone else and I am sure I am not the only one.
So why isn't this place stuffed to the walls with active members? I think the answer to that question will be found by the hundreds of member who, for whatever reason, do not participate actively in the community. Don't get me wrong, every member has a right to be as active as they wish, god forbid that we had a system where if you didn't post within a certain time, you were cast out. But I would love to hear from some of the none active members why they feel that posting or joining in is not for them.
Maybe there it would not be a bad idea to clean out the membership list of those who have not logged on for, say, a year so that prospective members see a true picture of what the community size is. Although I appreciate that no one who runs a forum wants it to appear that it has fewer members than they would like, I think this campaign is a great opportunity t re-launch what I know has the ability to be the best international photographic community on the web.
So much is being done for the membership by VIG so, come on folks, join in. Say what you like or dislike and if you do not post on a regular basis, then post now and say why. No one will bite your head off

Thank you both for encouraging old and new members to join in, and I really hope our new campaign will have a positive effect on new comers As Paddy said, VIG is a commercial enterprise, which help us to cover our expenses in terms of advertising our site and software, and to constantly progress in terms of our developments. VIG have made many big investments over the years to ensure the constant growth and innovation of our site freeimagebrowser.com, and we really hope to see more join in. We are doing this because we all have a passion for photography, and we want to help the best way we can to make peoples stay here as enjoyable, learning and profitable as possible. We now cover Photo Software, Photo Blogs, Photo Newsletters and of course a great Photo community
