This young swan looked like he/she was just sitting on glass yesterday, the river was so still and the blue sky and sun made it seem just like a mirror. Left uncropped to show the calm of the water more.

The lovely calm weather we have had lately has given this a very different look. Well done Bev.

Great reflection, colours and sharpness however the swan is very far away, and dead centered. It does as Paddy says give a feel of symmetry, and the calm water, gives a sense of calmness. Personally I would have cropped this photo tighter, but looking at it over and over again, I'm not sure. Sometimes it just O.K. to break the rules. I doubt anyone agrees with me, and in this case I'm not even sure if I agree with myself. You've made an excellent picture that for me, is hard to critisize. Something seems wrong in this photo, but there more that seems right. Perhaps it's just me, my eyes, and my idea of how I believe pictures are supposed to be, that makes me see things the way I do. To cut things short: SMASHING shot!

Thanks Paraman and i can understand where you are coming from, i thought this time not to crop as this was the scene i actually saw, and i am a great believer in not sticking to the rules, a little originality doesnt hurt at all Thanks for your time to write your comments. much appreciated.

This is probably one of the best swan photos I have ever seen. Perfectly portrayed and its the kind of picture that fits into nearly every fairytale Great shot Bev, and nicely spotted
