Lifeless.
This little mouse is now another animals meal, it took me a while to get used to these scenes, but its one that goes on every minute in the wild, so why is it not as hard to accept? perhaps its human intervention again that makes it hard to swallow (so to speak).

I totally agree Bev, and this is not the typical animal shot we see from you, but it does really explain the food chain and how it works. As you said yourself, "This little mouse is now another animals meal", so in the wild this is how it works. So despite the bad thought of paying with a life to feed another, this photo does reflect how it works.

Yet again, you captured all of this perfectly. Brilliantly spotted Cool

I've had days where I feel like that. Wink

This is life though, what is a bit of luck for one (the happy diner) is where luck runs out for another.

Thank you everyone for your comments and im glad eveyone has been able to look at this realistically..hard i know. Sad Rob in answer to your question...i try and use very little PP work on my images, a touch on the curve tool in CS2 now and then, but i think the main thing is making sure my settings are right on the camera,(correct aperature with SSpeed, and of course the light source) and i have the Saturation setting in camera one notch higher, this may help.

This picture goes well with my shots of the snake feeding on a rat.

Life, does seem to be cruel, when we look at it, but this is the way life has been since life appeared many millions of years ago, and it will go on the same way for many more millions of years to come.
Death is the only certainty, from the second any life starts. I think our on fear of dying makes us feel sorry for the animals that have to sacrifice their life so others can live on, but although we count Man as the most intelligent creature on this planet we still end the same way, and surrender ourselves to microbes and bacteria, for the world to live on

So I guess one could say that in a sence there is life after death, although it's not in the way as many people wish for life to go on.
