I don't know what it is
While taking pictures around a local nature reserve I saw this plant but I have no idea what it is sadly. To keep the flower head as the main pint of interest I helped out the shallow depth of field by using a mask in PhotoFX to ever so slightly darken the corners. The simple frame was also added using PhotoFX. If anyone knows what the plant is, I would appreciate the education

Thankfully the name doesn't count to see that this is in itself a beautiful picture. I guess you can hear that my fingers are more black from coffee than green from gardening, so I wouldn't know the name either Terrific shot Paddy, and the slightly faded FX you have applied to the corners goes really well with this shot. Beautiful work and nicely framed

Hmm i have scanned the wildflower books and the nearest i have come to is believe it or not is a member of the wild carrot family, there are about 20 plants that are a member of the wild carrot and this looks the closest. Love the angle in which you have taken this, and your DOF is spot on.

Oooo thanks for that Bev. I have also been told that it may be a variety of achillea, but I like the sound of wild carrot better
