Rusting away
With this picture I wanted to emulate the old 35mm slide film on a light box, there was nothing like slide film, especially Fuji for giving strong contrasty colour. Seeing a picture backlit on a light box for the first time was always exciting. All editing done using PhotoFX

That is very neat Paddy. It looks even more powerful on the enlarged picture. I could not check the exif data. Was this taken with the D40?

Thanks Steve, it is indeed the D40. At last I am starting to get to use it lol

Now that is power and a great illustration of the contrast colors from Fuji's 35mm slide film. The way you have edited it, designing your own plugin to get the effect, also adds to the power behind the picture. Great work Paddy

I agree Julianne, whenever I see something rusting away I get a deep desire to know what it was for, why it no longer serves that purpose. It is a bit like archaeology without the spades.
The ‘contraption’ pictured is a farm implement (I don’t know it’s proper name) but it would be towed behind a tractor and it has rows of hook shaped bits that drag along the ground, presumably to level yet break up the soil surface. Or, it maybe that each hook shaped bit scratched a groove deep enough for seeding, I just don’t know. The wheel sticking up would have been set to control the depth that the hooks would dig down to.
