 Wow, this is truly amazing. The panning, the timing and your reaction were just perfect here Bev! It will definitely be a while before I get a shot like this, so it is great to see one who masters this so brilliantly  |

Darren and Julie thank you very much for your compliments they are always greatly appreciated. 
Darren i have no doubts that you and Julie and Steve can all get shots like this, it just boils down to loads of practise and to begin with loads of failed shots!  but thats the wonders of digital.
Julie, yes i do use a zoom lense i usually use my 70-200L f2.8 its a quick lense and it gives me enough cope to get near enough but not worry the birds and the shutter speed on this one was 1/1600, because it was very miserable outside (light was bad) and i wanted to capture the bird with little or no blurring, but a shutter speed of anything over 500 would of got you a shot. |
