Another image of a seagull in flight over the river, i wanted to capture something different from an aerial bird portrait of the seagull and this one performed perfectly while hunting for food.

Bev there is no doubt that you have a brilliant talent for wildlife photography. I never seem to get anything like this.

Thanks Steve. These and birds alike, like swans, geese, large avian types are much easier subjects for panning and getting motion shots, all you need is a good location, the subject, a flask of tea, and a few hours to practice in!

It's a great capture of the wings that are almost folded into a parachute, and where every feather is shown in detail. Steve, I never got a capture like this either, but I will take Bev's advice and practice practice practice At some point I am sure I will learn, if not, I can at least hope on getting lucky then
Thanks for sharing these shots with us Bev, and I am looking forward to seeing your future shots. Btw, did you manage to capture any owl pictures the other night?

Thanks Steve for your comments on this, and your right, the only advice is, just to get out there and practice! and if you get a good shot take not of the camera settings, and when that first picture is caught, its a terrific feeling! I went to where the owls are, and i was'nt disappointed, i got to see my first real british wild Barn owl pair and their 2 young, but the barn in which they were in was very dark and the chicks stayed well in their box which was situated on the top beam in the barn! The adults flew in whilst i sat hidden in the barn but didnt stay long, the activity got strong at about 10 pm which is not good for photography!! i am going back Tuesday to see if the chicks emerge from their box and i think the next best thing is to return at dawn. The saga continues! and il keep you updated.

You've gotta love this shot, full of action and motion. The focus is spot on, on the eye of the seagull, rendering the wings slightly unsharp, to emphasize the motions of a bird in flight. Another great one from you BevB.
