I was lucky to find a Nuthatch nesting in a tree whilst on a photography holiday, they are very shy birds and they new i was hid up in the bushes, so i was glad to get a shot of it before diving into its hole in the tree.

I find bird shots extremely difficult, though I have been sitting in the same spot for hours upon hours - still no go. It either has to be stuffed bird or sitting extremely still before I can bring out the sharpness of it. I am definitely going to try it out some more.
Great shot Bev!

Thanks again for looking and your respected comments. Sometimes its quite frustrating waiting for long hours for your subject to arrive i once sat for 5 hours for 4 days trying to get the Kingfisher shots only to get nothing, i went back a few days later and within minutes i got loads of shots, i think the saying rightime, right place is very right!

Your the same as me Julianne i now take my camera everywhere because without a doubt something crops up and i have left it at home, your very lucky to get deer so close to home, what type are they?
It was a priviledge to get so close to the nuthatch, a beautiful little bird.

How exciting having such great animals so close to home, your whitetail are similar to our Roe deer i think a very elegant species of deer, and Wow! a COUGAR, what a fantastic opportunity you have, another super animal, but does it bother your animals when its hunting for food?

Mother nature can be quite hard sometimes, but as you say the cougar was doing what comes naturally! Poor horse i expect that was an awful time for you. Thats an image i would of liked to have seen, either you in your bunny slippers wondering what to do next, or the Cougars face, he probably thought now iv seen some species in my time but this, hmmm!
