Now I know these kind of shots aren't easy. I pulled up the EXIF data by right clicking on the photo and I could see you are using a high shutter speed. I know there are few here who have been playing around with the shutter speed, and this shot is jut a perfect example of how it is done. Razor sharp, even though the object is moving.

Beautiful and talented shot Bev!

Thanks Darren very kind words.
I spent two whole days with these little missiles, trying to get some good shots of them in flight, and yes a high shutter speed is essential to freeze these birds movements, to add motion blur with these guys would be a little pointless (IMO) as they are so small the whole bird gets blurred.
Alot of practise panning is needed as well to capture them! Roll eyes

From personal experiences I know it takes a lot of attempts to get a shot like this, not that I have managed to capture one this sharp but I am hoping on hitting the jackpot eventually Very happy You are right about the panning, that really takes practise - but for a shot like this and those on your website, the efforts are definitely worth it. Very talented shot indeed!
