Early Castle
I was up and about at 08.30 the other day on the way to work. It was the only nice day all week, and oh boy! was it cold. However this is one view of the Castle in Cardiff in the sun.

There's something about the sun and the winter time. The glow is different than what we see in the spring and summer. The diversity between light and darkness is even bigger as the sun is so low on the horizon. I like how the light from the sun is falling onto the tower, this early cold morning Smile

Mmmm the winter sun can be a curse and a blessing but it always looks full of life. There appear to be some interesting detail at the top of the tower Steve, the carved figures, do you know anything about them?

All these were the work of a Lord Bute, who restored the castle from its run down State in the 18th Century. He was a massively rich man, and gave the castle to Cardiff for safe keeping. If you Google Cardiff Castle, there can be found a huge history of the castles in this area.
