Veins of the Fens
These ruler straight drainage ditches that criss cross the Fens are maybe not that photogenic but they are the lifeblood of the Fens and are a testament to the fact that most of the Fenlands are in fact ’Man made’. Many around where I live were actually dug by English Civil War prisoners set to work by Oliver Cromwell who originates form Huntingdon, near to Peterborough

wow, that's a lot of diggin It's rather impressive they could maintain a straight line considering it is made by hand, and the fact it was before advance engineering techniques and machines were invented. Nice work and nice shot.

Simple and straightforward, but so easy to get it wrong. A nice shot Paddy.
