Visualizer Photo FX - People will notice when you FX it!

Visualizer Photo FX - SDK.

You will be amazed how easy it is to create your own Plugin for Visualizer Photo FX. All it requires is a text editor to program a new plugin, and Photo FX or any other Photo Editor to design your own Photo Masks. The plugin system is designed to read the CFG plugins from the "textures" subfolder once the software is launched, and then locate the inverted JPG masks provided within each set of scripts. Below you will find instructions on how to build your own plugin for Visualizer Photo FX. If you are interested in designing your own photo mask(s), you should study the tutorial, Create your own Photo Mask with Visualizer Photo FX.

Locating, Opening and Saving a plugin.

You can find all the plugins available for Visualizer Photo FX within the "textures" subfolder. Locate the directory where you installed Visualizer Photo FX and open any of the plugins using your default text editor (such as Notepad).

You can edit the script within the plugin to match the values of your personal set of photo masks. Once you have edited a plugin you can save it within the textures folder using a new filename. Make sure the extension is *.cfg before saving.

The structure of the plugin is straight forward. The Photo Mask Package is titled by the developer and each mask is given their own title and subfolder location.

It is important to mention that an empty line break must be made available after each section you add, and each Split section must be produced with the // comment included. In the first 4 lines of the plugin, you may only edit line 1.

All plugins must be saved in the "textures" folder, and all photo masks you create must be placed in a subfolder within the "textures" folder, or Visualizer Photo FX will not be able to read the plugin correctly.

Distributing the Photo Masks.

If you are developing Photo Masks for other Visualizer Photo FX users and you would like to build your own Install packages, you may want to read the registry values to locate where Visualizer Photo FX is installed, and then install your plugin into InstallDir + textures.

If you are not automatically locating the install directory through your install package, remember to inform your users that the plugin needs to be installed/unzipped into the Visualizer Photo FX install directory (textures subfolder).

* FX Photo Mask is an inverted standard JPG file.
