Hi, my computer seems to have contracted a virus or spyware which managed to sneek onto my computer from somewhere. Its more frustrating then anything. It has installed a program called "Spyware Quake 2.0" and no matter i do i can't get rid of it. If i delete it or uninstall it it appears there next time i restart system. No anitvirus programs can detect anything wrong with system, ive used mcafee virus scan, ad-aware, spybot etc but they all come back with no propbs.
I can't really give you any more information that cos i can't really find any, if you have any ideas about what it might be it would be a great help thnks. Also if you need more info i will post it. Edit: When it installs the "spyware quake" program, that program says that it has detected a "Trojan.downloader.slvr" plus it puts an annoying flashing icon in my system try that regulary pops up a message saying that "your computer is infected with a virus click here to find out more" Last edited by Skarjj : 03-25-2006 at 02:19 AM. |

I have both good news and bad news for you. The good news is, this threat is fairly harmless and easy to uninstall. The bad news is, unless you downloaded this threat yourself from spywarequake.com, you probably have a Trojan that downloaded this onto your computer, most likely along with other threats you don't know about. I recommend you get Norton Antivirus and Norton Internet Security from http://www.symantec.com/ . If you aren't willing to spend the money for this program, you can go to http://securityresponse.symantec.co...ywarequake.html for a list of files, folders, and registry keys to delete. But this will not help you in removing Trojans or other exploits.
If you have any questions, just post them here.
