A very promising game I have run accross is the Saga of Ryzom - a fantasy, magical, adventure RPG; basically your standard RPG game. In Ryzom, you can choose between four races of characters. I believe three are magical, and one is not, but I might be mistaken.
This game is still in beta and is already hugely popular on the west coast (or so I presume by the number of people downloading - over 1000 per day). The game will not be free once out of beta, so, if you want it free, download the beta and be a beta tester for it!

Sounds cool. I am not a MMORPG player, but I have a couple of friends who may want to check that out.
