I own a copy of Unreal Tournament 2K4, and have to say that this game is pretty good. The maps are extensive, play excellent on my computer and looks great too. I had my reservation on the game prior to install. It came on a dvd that includes all 6 cd's for install of the game. Whoa! Thats alot of storage space.
It takes quite a while to install the game, but its well worth it. The updated multiplayer section of the game appears robust, and I like the chat part of the game. I use a different software for online talking, but it still comes in handy for those that need it. I havent played Unreal since UT2K, but I like this version a lot. Because the game plays so well on my computer, I have to say its worth the purchase if you like this series. :freak:

Hey Morphux,
I found some decent UT2K4 tweaks if you like that get the game runnning even smoother.. as follows.. Firstly find the ini file, usually in C:\ut2004\system\ut2004.ini make a backup first then open it..... 1. Find "Cachsizemegs=32" for best performance and general rule is to make it higher but to keep it roughly around 200mb less than your total ram. just to let windows keep chugging in the background. this should make load times quicker and other performance related improvements 2. Find "Mindesiredframerate=35.0000" change it to what best suits you and UT will adjust settings as neccessary to accomodate this. 3. find "configuredinternetspeed=10.000" change it to 20.000 for T1 connection and 5.000 for modem. Also did you know UT has a built in MP3 player, F11 invokes this and you can play your own tracks... (that one is cool )lastly to change the vehicle horn to one of those funny ones you hear ingame(ie dukes of hazard etc) then hit the ` key to bring down console and type "set input N play vehicle horn1" - where N is any key you care to bind.. hehe hope this improves an already classic game take care peeps Mr Jingles ![]() |

I had to research this, im stuck in the US at the moment with only my laptop and it used to take forever to load the levels on this game, I would be loading up to play online and by the time i got in the game was half finished... this should help somewhat...

Yeah I know the feeling sometimes. I havent had it happen to UT as it has always loaded really nicely on my computers. Thats why its one game I never hesitate to get. No matter how new, they really know how to make thier games run on almost any platform with little drag on the system.
