Well I have finally finished the project I set myself when I got the new camera. I am very pround to live in this lovely city and we have many parks and green spaces to enjoy. I think like many people we take it for granted, but this project has made me realise just how lucky I am living in this lovely city.
After Roath park I went to
Victoria Park One of our oldest public parks. This was named after Queen Victoria naturally. Quite a small park and right in a busy shopping area.
Then it was on to
Thompsons Park Another small park in the middle of a large housing area and donated to the city by the wealthy Thompsons family.
After that it was on to
Llandaff fields This is a huge area that is mainly used just for walking and enjoying the peace and quiet, although often ball games are played there and there is a childrens play ground.
To finish this section and the series I left the best until last. Cardiff Castle has been around since the year 1100 and the familys that have owned have improved and spent fortunes on it over the hundreds of years that have followed. It was used as a summer palace for many years and a full history and timeline can be found here
Cardiff Castle home page
I walked around Bute Park and into the Castle grounds taking photos. There is a ban on photography in the Castle itself although the tour is fastinating. You can find photos of the inside on the web site of the castle.
The Castle and Park were gifted to Cardiff by the Bute family in 1947. The album can be seen here

None of the albums above are huge, and I do hope that a few of you check out the links and enjoy them.
