I had a sneaking suspicion you would be the first to give it a try Paddy Thanks for asking this question, as I am sure others who want to learn how to make their own Picture Frames, might be sitting with the same question but may be afraid to ask.

The size of the document doesn't really matter, what matters is that all pieces are sliced into squares, which means that all sides of the square have the exact same size. In the illustration below I have zoomed in on the design and made a selection that is 0.486 on all sides, which fits perfectly on this frame. Now depending on the width and height of your frame, your dimensions may be different, but always make sure that all pieces are sliced into squares.

As mentioned in the tutorial, crop the selected area, save the slice and go back in the history panel to where you created the selection. Then drag the selection to the next location you want to slice, and repeat this until all 8 pieces have been sliced into squares.

Below you will see the 8 pieces that needs to be sliced into each their own jpg file.
  • Left Top Corner
  • Top area
  • Right Top Corner
  • Left area
  • Right area
  • Left Bottom Corner
  • Bottom area
  • Right Bottom Corner
When using PS, the info panel is a great help (as shown in the illustration above), as you have complete control of your selection, making it easier to turn it into a square. Also make sure to use the first illustration in the tutorial as a guideline to where to drag your selection, to crop and save.

I hope this will help you Paddy, and thanks for always putting these tutorials into use. This is what they are there for, and hopefully they bring more fun to Photo FX users who wants to go the extra mile
