well, a bit of good news....i took my windowsxp disc, stuck it in the driver and when i was prompted I booted from the cd....i elected to reinstall the windows from the disc and then when prompted I selected the Recovery Repair selection instead of the Fresh copy install....well, it worked..not only did i get my computer back, i didnt lose any of my documents or folders...whew!! i feel like i dodged a bullet, but now im just a little bit pissed because i am sure the reason i lost my lsass.exe file in the first place was because of "Spyware Stormer"...iono, i've used this program for a long time and never had that type of problem before...if that was the problem, maybe it will help one or two of you other problem computer people....it may not be the same problem for everyone, but it did unlock my issue and I thought I would share it with ya. thanks for having a forum like this that people in my shoes can resort to when we are issues with the things we know very little about...it did help pave the way for me isolating the problem and solving it...in fact, the only reason I even felt it was the spyware was that it was the only common denominator which factored in BOTH computers having the exact same error message, immediately after rebooting, after scanning for "infections"....had it not been for me scanning both computers at the same time, getting the same results, i dont know if I would have ever figured this one out.....ty

Well, listen to what I did...I rebooted my laptop seven times since reinstalling the WindowsXP Recovery disc...absolutley NO PROBLEM...I then did a virus scan using the same software "Spyware Stormer".....it found 45 "infections".....so, just for the sake of "research" i decided to let that same software "fix" the problem, so I selected the fix option.....I then rebooted my laptop and got hit with the "lsass.exe - System Error The endpoint format is invalid" window AGAIN...pretty much proof positive that this particular "spyware" protection was responsible for the error....Where I am not necessarily trying to blame "spyware stormer" for this problem (i am given the option of which "infected" files I want clean)...i just think that people who are in charge of creating these programs need to understand that not every person who turns on a computer to use is always literature enough to thoroughly know the insides and outs of files....to some extent isnt that what we are paying THEM for??? I readily admit that I dont know what every HKEY_LOCAL in my registry is used for...but I dont think it unreasonable to believe that THEY should know....this software is getting rid of registry entries that are needed to operate my system...to me, that is not what I am bargaining for....what is it coming to when I have to fear running a anti-virus type program could do me more harm than just letting my computer be???

For the boot problem "lsass.exe System Error: The endpoint is invalid" create a new pagefile on another disk while seeting the current disk(s) to no pagefile, then reboot the system. Contact D2@gap.net for more info.

whats up everyone, i have run into this problem on many differnt computers and here is how you fix it.

If you can boot into Safe Mode:
right click on "My Computer"
go to "Properties"
Click "Advanced"
Click "Settings" in the Performance Box
Click "Advanced"
Change Memory Usage to "Programs"
Reboot

If you cannot boot into Safe Mode:
(I have not tested this, so use at your own risk)
But hey, you cant boot anyway, so what do you have to loose.
Use recovery disk to get into recover console or find some other way to run a command prompt on the drive that is having the issue.
The type the following command:
REG ADD HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management /v LargeSystemCache /t REG_BINARY /d 0x1
reboot

That should change the same key that was changed in the first steps

Hey guys,

I have the same error, but when I try to type Adam's code into the command prompt in the recovery console it says that the command is not recognised...

Any hints?

I cant get into windows in any mode (safe mode, w networking,w command prompt, or normal.)
