I have Macromedia Studio MX 2004, and I'm wondering if Dreamweaver is a good scripting program. What are your views on the program?

Well, here is my take. I have only used it very very little. I have used GoLive 6 while I was in school, only because this is what they had.

BUT, everyone I have talked to about using a website developing program, has stated that Dreamweaver was the professional way to go.
I guess it writes code cleaner and is just more powerful. I dont know first hand.

I also have that software, and will soon be using it for a website that I have to work on. So if I can figure out how it works (with my trusty books that I bought to go along with it), I will let you know how I like it and how it stacks up against GoLive and MS Frontpage. I can already tell you that I dont care for Frontpage at all. It is just too..., well..., Microsofty.

That is the technical term of the day:

Microsofty - def. 1) when one piece of said software is bloated, writes bad code, and is just plain a pain in the neck to use.
2) too expensive for its real purpose and not meant to be in the hands of real users.

Dreamweaver is a very good software, but mostly I use notepad. It basically have all the options I need. I also use notepad for scripting.

lol, Frontpage is annoying, evil, and too expensive, but it was free for me (my dad is the capital manager at an airforce base, so, we get tons of free software, like, any new microsoft OS, and all the software to accompany it, and, photohop, etc.).
