Default Half Life 2

Suprised no-one on here has mentioned HL2 yet, find it hard to believe no one has it.. anyone played it???

well i got the game and must say it really lives up to the hype surrounding it.. the game is superb, graphically a treat.. the levels are well thought out and planned. the only thing that i can complain about is that as with the first one its completely scripted from start to finish so theres no reall free roaming go where you want style stuff, you just have to keep progressing on with the game... having said that, the hoverboat is fun as is the buggy.. and the Grav gun provides plenty of entertainment as you throw dumpsters and things at your enemies.. Also Counter strike source included with it is a great update on the original though with so many people online they all seem to be playing the same old maps 6 years on.. thats too dated for me, i prefer half life 2 deathmatch which was released by steam 2 weeks ago for free... superb..

Anyhow all that said.. ayone else have it.. care to join in

I just have to get my hands on this game I haven't seen it in action yet, I have only seen a few screen shots. From what I can see the graphics are amazing, and I can't wait to try out the new levels.
Allthough I didn't play Counter strike that often, I still have to admit I love the gameplay. Adrenalin pumping as one sneak by every corner, makes the gameplay come alive, and combinig that with a team of players setting up a strategy to eliminate the opponent just adds the extra kick.

I will eventually buy this game, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.....but I will

Thanks for sharing the info, Mr. J.

I wont get it unless I get a new computer. My 1ghz 384mb ram sloth is just not up to it. It would be a waste to get a game that I would have to turn everything down to the lowest graphics level just to play. Then it would look just like HL 1, which would be boring very quickly. Maybe someday soon if the job starts in January.

Actually you'll find its pretty forgiving, All i have at the moment is a laptop which i run it on. its a 2.6ghz processor but thats just for the AI and behind the scenes stuff, 512mb 2100 ddr.. and the graphics chipset is only a geforce 4 420 go. at 32mb doesnt seem like a lot but i can run halflife 2 at 1280x1024 with everything maxed out except anti-aliasing. also its not a DX9 card so some of the advanced features wont show up on mine, but having said that it runs and looks pretty damn sweet. so go get it.. and then if it dont run good you have a excellent excuse to upgrade your system

LOL, I already have plenty of excuses, just not the cash at the moment. It has to wait until I am working again, but sounds cool.

I liked the original Half-life. I might buy Half-life 2 when I upgrade my PC.....I don't think 760MB of RAM is enough?
